Beach Tropicana is located on Velika Plaza, 5 km from town of Ulcinj. It is typical sandy beach out of settlement with beach bar and all necessary facilities. The length of beach is 300 m. Tropicana is accessible from Regional roud R-15 with local road (500m) and has its own parking space in front. Due to special ecological conditions (maritime impacts of the Sea, mediterranean climate, seasonal and regular flooding) autochthonous flora has been developed in the rear of 'Velika Plaza' beach. Rare and endangered halophyte plants appeared along the rear of Velika Plaza significant as the last refuge for some of them. The most endangered plant species on Montenegrin beaches is Sand Lily Pancratium maritimum, which can be found only on the locality of Velika Plaza in narrow zone of psamo-halophyte vegetation in the rear. This species has disappeared from other habitats in Montenegro and it is included on national 'Red List' (Act on Protection of Rare, Endangered and Threatened Animal and Plant Species - Official Gazette of Montenegro nr. 36/82). Other rare psamo- and halophyte plants pecies are presented in the rear of beach: Sea Rocket (Cakile maritima Scop.), Xantium italicu,. Pricky Saltwort (Salsola kali L.), Euphorbia peplis L, Euphorbia paralias L., Polygonum maritimum L, Atriplex hastata L.,Echinophora spinosa L., Sea Holly (Eryngium maritimum L.), Agropyrum junceum (L.) P. B., Medicago marina L., Inula crithmoides L., Lagurus ovatus L, Cuscuta sp. L. Earlier very common Skadar Oak Quercus robur spp. Scutariensis, but very rare today (also included on national 'Red List'), appears in flooded maritime forests, Skadar Oak and Or ental Hornbeam i.e. Robureto-Carpinetum orientalis, located at 200-300 m from the coastline.
